Crossing the borders on Saturday night 20 July.

Can anyone help me with news about the south Nicosia borders are holding protests Saturday night. We need to get to larnaca airport for 8pm. Will they close the crossing at Metahan,and will we be able to get back. Wonder if it would be better to get a taxi.

I do not think the borders would close on the evening of 20th July. But if they are then you would not be able to cross over with a taxi from this side or walk over to get a taxi anyway!

What with it also being a Saturday evening, it's very likely there will be protests in Nicosia at the time you want to cross What about crossing at Beyarmudu/Pile? I very much doubt you'll have any trouble there.

Have not seen anything about these protests, anyone know who is protesting and why?

Yes, TCs celebrate the successful landings on the morning of July 20th, but understandably the GCs don't see it the same way ...
