Stolen puppy beware
My friend had his 14 week old puppy stolen from his back garden in Alsancak last night between midnight and 5am. We assumed stolen because the gate was still shut and the garden has a 2 metre brick wall all the way around and his collar had been undone and left. If anyone is offered a puppy his markings are of a Rottweiler but his mum was a Labrador please can you let me know or contact Cenk at Scuba Cyprus at Camelot.
This is very distressing and although we hope to get him back we are wanting to make people aware that this is happening in our area.
He answers to the name of Scuba
Thank you

Re: Stolen puppy beware
My neighbours also have a 3 month-old Rottie. He has a kennel, with a chain attached, and wears a strong leather collar, but this morning at 6.00 am I found him cowering in my garage, trembling like a leaf, obviously terrified of something. I do wonder if someone had tried to steal him and he'd got away, since his collar was still on, and the chain was still attached to the kennel, with the clip intact. We are also in Alsancak, and following the recent Tervetuloa Rottie incident, one becomes very suspicious. I must now try to translate your posting, since my neighbours don't speak English, but thanks for letting us know. Do hope your friend's little one is found safe and well.

The simple answer is take your dog in, I don't understand why people leave puppies chained up outside anyway. Puppies need love and security, but why am I not surprised

Belle-I agree totally that people should take their dogs in at night.
That way I might be able to get a decent nights sleep, and the selfish owners would have to put up with the barking.

I cant believe the above replies, the first poster is doing folk a favour and advising them what has happened and to keep an eye out. Where does it ask for answers to a question?
If the puppy is going to be a security measure, why would you bring it indoors and then when its a few months old kick it out, surely this would be more cruel than training it to be an outdoor dog at the start. If the dog is a pet then most would have it in the home, but most Rottys I assume are bought as a deterrent.

Re: Stolen puppy beware
Thank you Lor51......
The puppy was only outside because the owner was out, normally he is an indoor dog but not on his own as it is too hot and he should have been safe in the garden, I can see only one error made by my friend and that is a padlock on the gate. He was checked by my friends father at midnight and he was fine but gone by 5 am when he returned home......
I have 2 dogs myself and they choose to be outside at night and I would never leave my dogs inside during this heat whilst I was away from the house......
We could debate this forever, we all have our own ideas on what is right for animals and people around us and never agree. I have 2 dogs, yes they sometimes bark at night but I get up to see why they are barking and normally it's because my neighbours who don't have dogs are partying the night away with no consideration for others !

İ hope they find him my dog was also stolen from catalkoy from my garden but mine wasnt chained the gate was closed and she would not come in at night as from a puppy when i got her she was always scared of being closed in a room or chained up and would cry all night unless i let her wonder around the garden which is all closed off all dogs are different and i love dogs but i do prefer them outside because the house never seems as clean when my dog is inside and i dont like dog hair all around the house every one is different if i hear or see anything i will let you know
