Which is best, then or now?

Rather than take another post off topic I have started a new one in response to the comments below
I've been coming out to NC for almost 20 years now. I remember the days of little traffic on the roads, no supermarkets, little family run restaurants charging peanuts for meals and having difficulty spending more than a £100 for a 2 week holiday as there was so little to buy. Yes, I look back to those days with fond nostalgia but times move on and you can't expect the TC's to live in the past for our benefit. I do hope they don't go down the road of pile it high sell it cheap road, but it's their choice!
I too had been coming here for twenty plus years before we moved here lock, stock and barrel, I well remember those days, but does anyone really want to go back to them, TC or ex pat.
Surely the influx of ex pats has brought some benefits to the country, taxes get paid, goods are bought, more employment for local people, not to mention the number of BMWs, Mercedes, Range Rovers that many of the TCs drive, bought no doubt from the proceeds of land sales.
Of course there are some ex pats who are a disgrace to their fellow man, sadly these type of people manage to get everywhere but they usually move on after a few years, the majority of those ex pats living here do try to integrate into the community and respect the culture and religion of the people we live amongst.
It,s just that I get very annoyed when people forget that there are decent ex pats living here and tar us all with the same brush.
