My residency expires on the 8th Aug all paperwork is done and sent off to Lefkosa but as the 8th Aug is a holiday does anybody know if immigration will process this before the due date ? say on the 6th or 7th Aug ?

A couple of years ago our residency renewal fell during Bayram and took more than a week longer than usual to be processed at Lefkosa. The Police at immigration told us to walk through the border with the South the day before residency expired and explain that Bayram was delaying renewal. We did this and got 90 days stamp at Locmaci. Hope this helps.

Munchkin,
We've done this nearly every year - apply 30 days in advance of the expiry date and then go to Lefkosa around 4 weeks later - even though Bayram has fallen during this time in the last few years we have still managed to get it all done within the 30 days. I think there is a phone number you can call at immigration to check - if you search cyprus44 you may be able to find it or perhaps someone will post it.

Yes they will. This happened to us a couple of years ago when bayram was on when our visa`s expired. We went a week before and they had all the files for the applications that fell during Bayram to hand . So there was no problem, for us anyway.
But we always collect before the expiry date.......they simply date your passport with the correct expiry date if you collect early. If that makes sense.

I renewed mine last year 30 days in advance and collected the stamp before the old one had expired. They just post-dated the new stamp to fit in with the expiry date.

I've gone up to two weeks after and they just back dated it. no problem at all. No one needed to see my documents in between times, if they had I would have told them it was being processed, which according to a police officer from immigration would have been OK, as long as it was being processed, of course
