Hi

Does anyone know or could recommend a clock repairer

My clock isn't worth a lot of money but

it has great sentimental value to me

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

There is a shop in town towards the harbour, but I do not have full info to hand, but If he is still around there is the lovely man Des Roberts. He lives in lapta, and I am sending by p.m. his details rather than put them here. Hope it helps.

Not sure if it is still there,but there was a shop up the road opposite the Dome hotel on the LHS.He repaired our very old clock a few years ago

I have just send Wibow details of it. Found an old card in my files!

I have got to go into Girne on Monday

so will have a look for the man near the harbour

Passed it today,the shop opposite the Dome is still there,called Saatci

BUYER BEWARE!!!! Just to warn you that the guy by the Dome Hotel is not your best bet. He rooked me a few years ago and doubt the quality of his workmanship. There is a fully qualified clockmaker in Lapta, a craftsman member of the Horological Society. He makes a fair price. If you wish, I will ask him if he would look at your clock and give you a quote. I say this because he is semi retired and not looking for work. So let me know and I will ring him for you.

The gentleman in the shop up the side road opposite the Dome did a wonderful job repairing my Rado. It needed a new spring making, which he did. It was a tiny intricate piece of work, beautifully crafted.
He is the one we entrust all our watches, all genuine models, to and I can't speak highly enough of him.

The man in Lapta is the one I sent you details of. Des Roberts. Did you get my mail with all his details etc? If not, I will send them again, but I am sure we are talkiong of the same person. As I sai,d I ma not sure if he is here at the moment.

Not to worry PC..... The important thing is that the original poster gets someone to repair his clock. Des is really the man, but I e mailed privately cos I wasnot sure Des wanted his details on kibkom.

As long as all is well in the end, it doesn't matter how many times he gets the info, aslong as he gets it!!!!
