NHS changes,expat survey submit online.

Worth doing I think, might take you an hour or so, may be the only chance to influence whether we get NHS care if we have paid Ni contributions.

The term ‘overseas visitor’ relates to any person who is not ordinarily resident in the UK, and therefore not automatically entitled to free NHS hospital treatment. It may include short-term tourists, longer but limited term temporary residents, those present who have no lawful immigration status, and British nationals or others with a right to permanent residence (i.e. indefinite leave to remain) in the UK but who no longer do so. Ordinary residence is not a straightforward concept and further information is provided at para.30.
I would urge all ex pats to read the full documents and take the opportunity to give their comments.

The proposals affect "Non-EEA visitors"

North Cyprus is classed as being within the EEA, which is not the same as the EU.

There is one other point to consider and this is the only way you will get your voice heard, and that is that at the same time, the Govt is reviewing the status of ex-pats everywhere with a view to "opting them in" to the NHS based on NI contributions made to date.
Every voice added to this survey is a positive strike for all expats who are out of the country for more than 6 months at a time.
