The chances of being a victim of a terrorist attack in North Cyprus is on par with getting hit by an achondrite meteorite. So its not impossible.
Cheer up, have a beer...

Is this terrorism inflicted on expats and locals by the entire property providers here or some other form of abuse?

very disappointed with posts on this subject , maybe if I had asked the price of sugar or bread or who knows how to make beans on toast I may have got more adult replies , but hey ho nothing surprises me , if I should ever decide to waste my time in posting again I will try and make it less thought provoking.

ohmyohmyohmy... Throught provoking? It was rather, 'you asked a stupid question and got some silly answers'...
Anyone who has some 'thought' would know that whats going on in the Middle East has absolutely no effect on N. Cyprus.
Still, you asked a question, and you got 2 genuine answers and some comments, I dont understand what is wrong with that.
Plus, you need to work a lot harder to provoke my thoughts

Terrorist attacks can happen anywhere, particularly on 'soft' targets, and one can presume the TRNC could be regarded as such. However in the bigger picture I would prefer to think that the TRNC would not feature high up the ranking as a possible area of focus for those bent on wreaking havoc.

I think that some people look where TRNC is geographically and think that we're going to get involved (check out just how far the Karpaz is from Lebanon) but I think its really no different to people living in, say, Liverpool at the time of the huge IRA uprisings. As teg17 states, terrorist attacks can occur anywhere, but if you look at a map of the world I don't believe we figure. But there again, never say never.

kbasat , I don't normally reply to baffons who try to belittle others and at the same time make themselves look pathetic , mine was a serious question , obviously beyond your your level of interlect or understanding , i would have thought being involved in communications at a low level that you would keep up to date with world news instead of taking cheap shots whenever possible .

1. I think the word you looking for is buffoon, not baffon
2. You asked a question, I answered (along with a few others), and you turn around and complaining about your disappointment of peoples answers and calling them immature and making references to their intellectual levels (see msg 7) and I am the one who is being accused of belittling others? Funny
3. If you think you are qualified to judge whether I look pathetic or not based on a few lines of sentences I wrote here, so be it
4. Yours could be serious question, but that doesnt change the fact that it was a stupid one.
5. The word is intellect, not interlect.
6. If you question my intellect, you obviously do not know me, its ok.
7. Well, I only finished high school top 1% of my class, was one out of 6 people in TRNC to win a Fulbright and CASP (cyprus america scholarship program) scholarship and studied Bsc in Computer Science in the USA. I came back by choice and working to improve upon telecommunications industry in my home country. I have overseen setting up a telco-independent infrastructure over North Cyprus and currently providing Internet service much better than any competition to people who cannot even get basic telephone lines to their homes. if you call that low level, then again,
8. Again, read msg7 to see who has started taking cheap shots at people who is getting involved in this forum.
9. THIS IS AN OPEN COMMUNITY FORUM, NOBODY EXCEPT THE FORUM OWNER HAS THE RIGHT TO BASH ON OTHER MEMBERS' HEADS JUST BECAUSE THE FORMAT OF A POST/REPLY WAS NOT TO THEIR LIKING.

Why is it when people start a new thread and most of the time is
ends in a slagging match??
Yes people are entitled to their own opinions, as this forum is great
for all its aspects.
But come on guys, Why Why?? You may not no each other but Why
Does this person who started this thread have to get a full essay of
Crap.
İf people dont like what they read, then dont comment.
The thread was asking for comments welcome not acusations about
İntelligence. (even though my spelling is wack, but i dont care)

Despite my earlier posting on the subject in an effort to keep the topic on thread at the request of the originator I can see that I have failed miserably. Oh well, will just let everyone get on with it. Suggest the topic be amended to CV appraisal.

I honestly wish I hadn't bothered to reply. I've obviously got trambled under the feet of people who just wan't to kick back at each other. My reply might not have been of great political importance but at least it was a reply and an opinion which was originally asked for!! I'll know in future, not to bother.
