I have heard that there is somewhere in Troodos where they specialise in trout (fishing, sales, restauants). Can anyone tell me any info (name/directions/fishery opening times etc). Thinking of a trip out and a nice fresh trout or two would make the trip to Troodos even more interesting !!

I have 'googled' cyprus trout fishing in the past and there appears to be a few reservoirs which have trout stocked in them, give it a try. Also if you want a trout meal I have found this link

They have trout on the menu supposedly fresh from their Mill pond, this may be the "fishery" you are looking for!!
Other than this I have not heard of anyone having actually fished for trout down south, I will certainly give it a go sometime in the future.

Thanks for the info - will let you know all about it after we visit Troodos.

You will find the Trout Fishery in the village of Platres. Grilled fresh Rainbow Trout is available in some local restaurants. Delicious.
