I needed to check something about cat neutering in TRNC and have just seen the new revamped KAR website.
What an improvement !
It is now so much easier to find information and it just looks so much better. It is the same website address as before but with a new improved lay out and with updated info and photos about KAR.

It is all very well having a revampted website, but how does this help the animals.
My husband recently found a very young male kitten in Erol's car park.
He is extremely thin and has a pronounced limp. I am not an expert but it looks like he has either a dislocated hip or broken leg/ankle.
What do I do? I have been told that if I feed/water him, he is adopted so is therefore not KAR's responsability.
My husband works for the belideye and is on a low income so there is no way we could afford to pay a vet to have his leg/hip fixed.
If I don't feed/water him, will KAR come out to him? or will he just lie there and die?
If I agree to look after him afterwards will Kyrenia Animal RESCUE come and fix his leg?

BLUE BUTTERFLY - have you spoken to KAR about this kitten - have you rung their office to report it ? Have you spoken to your local vet about this kitten (they too can/do help with injured stray animals) ? Surely with an injury the vet should be your first call - they are the experts.
KAR are also on a limited income and cannot always help every single animal (despite many people thinking they should) - although they would love to be able to do so - but they will help if they can.
I commented on the improved site because it is a big improvement - hopefully it will attract new supporters which in turn could attract new income through sponsorship, donations etc - that in turn WILL help the animals that they help. It wasn't a post designed to start another anti KAR thread about what KAR don't do ! Why can't people give credit where credit is due and consider the many animals they are able to help.

Ifonly, why so quickly on the defensive?
I cannot find anything in my post that is Anti KAR. I was merely asking for advice on whether or not KAR would be willing to help, having read so many negative threads about them and, I might add, being told by numerous people, that from experience, they wouldn't.
There was no helpful advice forthcoming from either KAR or anyone else so I have taken Marley, the kitten. elsewhere.
He is being well looked after and thriving so maybe this thread could be closed.

Not sure why the thread should be closed - it was about the new revamped web site after all.
