HSBC, help needed please!

Can anyone tell me the Girne branch of HSBC's Swift code? My branch in the UK attempted to find it with no success and despite emailing Julia twice I have had no reply. I was assured here in the UK that this is not sensitive information, just an international code to identify the branch.

Looks like they havent tried hard enough. When you search google for 'HSBC Girne swift code', #1 result has the information
HSBCTRIX

Thank you, it certainly wasn't on their own system as I was sitting with them when they tried to find it. Why didn't I think of Google, the answer to everything!

It is on their system but it is the code for Istanbul which is probably why they couldn't find it.

It's strange that people are still having this problem with the HSBC here. Nearly 9 years ago I clearly remember having quite a strained discussion with a large branch of the HSBC in Norwich who were adamant there is was not a branch in either a place called Girne or Kyrenia. I told her that I'd been inside (that was when it was on the main street) and it was definitely there. In desperation the lady in Norwich phoned HSBC International H.Q in London, who confirmed there was such a branch and gave her all the details, but also confirmed that it didn't appear on the overseas list of branches in Cyprus.

Strange indeed, and quite stupid. Pretending that nothing exists here has gone a bit far. farcical in fact. The Girne branch of HSBC is a sub branch of Istanbul.

HSBC are one of the worlds most profitable banks.
They are not stupid, and will have set up their operation here as a completely stand alone organisation, albeit bearing the corporate logo.
I realise this is slightly off topic, but the point I am trying to make is that just because it has the same sign over the door,It doesn't mean that it is directly connected to your local branch in the UK.
I could go on ,but I suspect I will get slagged off(like I usually do).
But this might give you an idea why they have a presence here-

If its any consolation it is the same set up for the Turkish Bank - they told me very clearly not to use North Cyprus as part of the transfer and to stick to the swift code via Turkey.

Personally never had any faith in Julie, always use the other Premier Manager.
The current alternative is Melek Yilmaz who speaks excellent English and worked in Istanbul HSBC before coming here. If you have a problem try contacting her -
