Parking fines..
Here is an fun novel idea for generating tens of thousands of Lira for the local Police / Belediyesi coffers.
Employ a Foreign National (Non Turkish speaking) on a commission only basis, give them the power to issue tickets for all parking offences.
When an irate driver returns to the vehicle to remonstrate with the ticket issuer, a simple Cyprus shrug of the shoulders (you know the one) a "sorry I don't speak Turkish" hand them a piece of paper with the offence clearly indicated in Turkish.
No nepotism, favouritism, partisanism, or any other "ism" for that matter.
Imagine the hours of entertainment for tourists, sipping a cold beer in their favourite town centre restaurant, (the ones with the restricted access due to parked vehicles).........Priceless....
