Sad new for those of you who followed the story of Billy, for whom Marion and I had tried so hard, to find a new home. Today he was playing with his two friends and ran into the road,He was killed by a car,My friend is devastated and wonders "if only"he had found another home.

what a sad, sad ending. How on earth did he get out! Actually I had that happen to my pet when I was young. Dog called Tess which I adored. It saw me playing in the street and ran over. Virtually no cars on the roads in those days, but there was just one, and it ran over her. I was devastated. 9 years old at the time! Very upsetting, and one wonders why these things happen. so very, very sorry, but I am sure there is a place where billy will be happy and his spriit will live in peace. Or maybe he will come back as another adorable dog, but with a better life!

very sorry to hear the very sad news about billy , I lost one of my dogs joe six years ago , he was run over by a motorbike and I can still feel the tears every time I think of him , ask your friend to think of the good times with billy and please offer her my deepest sympathies .

I still have joes brother jack who is now nine along with his five best friends , quite a mixed bunch , jack a sheepdog , milly a bulldog , tilly a pug , meg a labradour , daisy a westy and meg a husky all the very best of pals along with the four cats and we love them all .

oh what a joy animals are , and are they worth all the pain when anything happens , a very clear yes because you still have the beautiful memories .

What's wrong with putting in the right section - "Pets"

i can understand the reason for pointing it out that this thread was originally put in the wanted section and quite rightly moved to the main forum after all there was great interest shown in the welfare of billy but then for an imbecile to post , with no comment about the subject matter and that the thread should be moved again , my advice magalan is if you have nothing constructive to post except basic criticism of where the thread should be then get a life . better still only post if its about the subject matter and most important show some basic human understanding to the person who started the thread along with the subject matter .

I was the one who moved this to the General forum, because I think that is where it should be for now. Eventually it may well get moved, but really it IS of interest to many who showed their concern about the fate of billy, . Very few of them would bother to read the Pets section, as they arenot looking for a pet. Therefore, do accept that people do need to know that poor Billy has met his end.

No need for anger at misunderstanding of postings, and maybe if in the future anyone feels it is in the wrong secton, they could p.m/email Soner or me or any of the other moderators, and we can deal with it appropriately.

as to animals, I know manhy people who say that animals are better than people, but maybe animals show the best traits of character, such as loyalty, faithfulness etc, which some of us humans take a long time to learn. Definitley a joy and a gift. The only problem is that they are like kids that never grow up, so it is very much a case of caring for them for life.

Genuinely so sorry for Billy and hope that he did not suffer.
Please pass on our feelings to whoever was trying to find him a new home.
