We can connect our laptop to our old tv and get a good picture but when we connect our laptop to our new TV using an hdmi lead, the picture is very jerky. Any suggections on what we can do to correct this or will we need to get Arçelik to come and look at it. They are both Arçelik TVs.
I know there are some technology wizards who read the posts so maybe smeone can help.

This may be a resolution problem or the HDMI cable may be too long (keep it under 3m cable if you can, or at least test with a shorter cable)

'Very jerky' is unfortunately not a technical term we use in the IT field Any chance you can take a picture of the TV screen and post it here?

I Have had similar problems. If I connect the hdmi lead to the tv when the tv and the computer are switched on it happens then. All I do to resolve it is to come out of the program, go back to the computer main screen and then restart the program I want to watch and the picture is ok.
you could also try connecting the laptop to the tv with the power off to both, then switch the power on when they are connected.

Thanks for help Mike but doesn't seem to solve the problem. Have taken 2 photos - one usıng same hdmi and mag250 set to box to Show that NTV is fine. The other shows ghost items on laptop and the light also seems to pulse.

Hmm, that does look strange indeed. It looks like you are a Multimax and NTV customer. Drop me an email at kbasat@multimaxcyprus.com and I will send somebody your way to take a look, no cost but no guarantee that we will be able to fix it but at least we can tell you where the problem is...

Please can i ask a question regarding the connection of the laptop
To the television.
How do i get sound To come out the LCD television rather than Just
The sound off the computer?
What type of scart Or connection do i need?
The television has attached speakers but No sound comes out it when
Laptop plugged into television.

Standard VGA out does not carry the sound with it, if you are using VGA connection, you need to have a seperate audio cable for sound, one such as this:

If your laptop has hdmi, then use that, if can carry both video and sound.

both VGA (used for video part) and also audio cables should be available in computer shops around Girne, such as Comaks and Laconic. If in doubt that you can sort this out on your own, seeking help from somebody like Chris (http://www.kibkomnorthcyprusforum.com/v ... =46&t=2437) will save you time...

There may be different connections on both laptop side and TV side, its important to get the right cable.

Image below shows 3 most common ones, note that VGA and DVI does not pass sound, for these you need a seperate sound cable (with proper input on TV) to be able to use TV's speakers. the newer HDMI has both video and sound.
