My wife is a kimlik holder, and I have been informed that I will get one when the new government has settled and the kimlik office is open again, how do I get a temporary extention on my passport to stay say 60-90 days until I am able to get my Kimlik

A suggestion, walk over to the South vis Ledra St, have a cup of coffee, then cross back in again.
I had to do this when my residency was late due to a mislaid file which got lost internally, as this was the second time it happened the officer in the post only gave me 30 days and said come back again and do ditto if it still has not been found. They would not issue a 30 day visa...this has just happened to a colleague waiting for a work permit, except that they gave him a 15 day visa only, on 3 consecutive occasions.

If you take a gtrip elsewhere, say Turkey, I am sure you will then be given the 90 days. I b elieve the authorities here are not too keen with people going south to extend visas. But if you go off island somewhere els,e then you really have gone and come back (if you see what |I mean).

I almost forgot to ask, as my wife is a kimlik holder does that mean she is a permanant resident and does not need to get her UK passport stamped and extended

Harvey, I'm pretty sure that a Kimlik card is all she needs, no passport stamps.

If she has a kimlik then she does not need a residency visa in her U.K passport. However, do make sure that the U.K passport is always up to date , as the Kimlik card does not cover all that the u.K. passport does.
