All done and dusted thank god. I now own a different house. I am very sorry for those of you that have those terrible problems. I have stayed with the same builder as he was true to the contract , Emtan by the way.

We've had our kocan for the land our house sits on since early 2008. Applied to have house, pool, stone wall, etc. put on in late 2009, just been told that our file has been passed, finished and sent back to Girne Tapu from Lefkosa so we should be able to pick up complete kocan very soon. We have had enormous help from an influential Cypriot neighbour, though, I might add, who seems to have a cousin in every dept. in every office, thank God. Without his help we might have been waiting a lot longer. We applied for original permission to purchase in early 2005, so it's taken seven years. Been good fun though

Congratulations Deniz1 ! Great news.
Frontalman, I had purchased several properties and land 3 years back and had no proplem getting the Kocans, but I went to the Tapu on each given deadline (think it was 4 weeks) and constantly harrased them for a couple of days, until received. But, always good to know someone that knows everyone.
