Went to Supreme Supermarket along the Catelkoy road this morning and there is an HSBC ATM machine albeit still covered in tape in the car park!! That will be a bonus when it is up and working!

They may have to wait a long time for a telephone line.

Hope it will dispense sterling that will save a trip to town.

The Garanti ATM in front of Lemar Karakum. dispenses sterling.
Easy parking, money exchange just opposite on the other side of the road.

Don't forget that TEB banks dispense, £, $ and Euros, plus tl of course. I'll be really pleased when a bank opens and dispenses £'s somewhere on the Girne Lapta Road. It's a real pain having to go into Town. I went as far as I could "to the top" at Credit West and was told that TC banks were not allowed by the Central Bank (whether that meant Turkey or TRNC I'm not sure) to dispense other currencies. Greater minds than mine will be able to explain why!!

Great news. At present have to drive into Girne to HSBC cashpoint or pay charges at any other other cashpoint if you bank with HSBC

New Lemar Lapta side are asking for comments on how they can improve. I have suggested they install a Sterling dispensing ATM in the car park. Please put a note in the suggestion box by the door when you next go in, and tell all your friends.

I tried to get UK pounds out of the ATM outside Lemar at Karakum and it did'nt have this facility.

Are you sure it dispenses sterling?

I tried the Garanti one at Lemar Karakum too, it swallowed my card then said I had timed out, luckily it spat it back out again. Won't use that again!!

I used the garanti machine this morning got sterling in twenties and no problems.

Art. There are 2 ATMs by the Karakum Lemar only the Garanti dispenses sterling.
If the screen come up with only tl euros dollars etc.we can only assume that it is temporarily out of stock of sterling.
Busy season Brits taking their money out. If this happens press iptal (Cancel) before you continue and the machine will return your card.
Also the ATM outside the Garanti bank on the main road Girne to Lapta dispense sterling. Easy parking at w/ends.
Never had a problem with either of these but have never had any luck with the Garanti Atm inside the foyer of the Cratos Hotel
