Does anyone know of a charity/organisation which is organisating help for the Syrian refugees currently freezing to death in extremely basic refugee camps.
These people are living in plastic 'tents' covered in ice and snow with very little support.
We complain that the trnc is cold in the winter but at least we have roofs over our heads, heating and warm clothing. Surely someone is organising support for these people.
Any leads would be appreciated.

Re: Help for Syrian refugees
I am sure that the UNHCR and Red Cross/Crescent Organisations are working all out to assist as best they can. We, as tax payers, contribute considerably to these organisations, no matter which religion we are, and rightly so. Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon and the likes are dealing with the bulk of the people. Let's hope that Saudi Arabia and the very rich, Islamic Middle Eastern countries are digging deep into their pockets. Would be interesting to know.
I too cannot comprehend living under these conditions, especially in the freezing weather. There are charities collecting now in Northern European countries..not sure about TRNC. I hope you get some replies.

There was a report in Cyprus Today a week or two ago about a couple who are collecting warm clothes for the refugees. The drop off point was St Andrew's Church in Girne.
