Finding Forever Homes For Fric And Frac

Post by BlueEyes »

We have been hoping for forever homes for almost 4 months now. Our chances in North Cyprus look pretty bleak. We are now looking to raise funds to be re-homed in either Ireland or the UK. We are in the process of finding out exactly what costs are involved and will post in due course. Likewise we have been in contact with Rottweilers For Adoption In Ireland (they are on facebook) and other groups to find a definite offer to house us. Any new owner will receive help towards the costs to transport us. A http://www.gofundme.com/ittcfo account has been set up and a link to our PayPal https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr…. Thank you for supporting us.

Hi, I do hope we are able to rehome these two beautiful, big, but gentle dogs in the UK. It looks hopeless here. Hope they enjoyed the treats that were given by Hope 4 Pets on Sunday.

Yes, I am resigned to re-homing them in the UK. I trully believe they will be better off there. I handed out a few goodies on Monday and will do again so tomorrow after work if the Vet is open.

Fric and Frac https://www.facebook.com/fricand.frac.1 have received a definite offer of a "Forever Home".

Fric and Frac have been "homeless" and searching for forever homes summertime. Their chances in North Cyprus have been bleak. Now we need your help to raise funds to transport and re-home them. We are aiming to complete their required vaccinations and blood tests in time to re-home them in late January. A http://www.gofundme.com/ittcfo account has been set up and a link to our PayPal https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?c ... ZWC6DB6XA8

Please help by donating to give Fric and Frac a second chance. Many thanks BlueEyes.

PS. Anyone wanting to donate in person to help us avoid paying admin charges to GoFundMe and PayPal can do do so by private messaging me.

I managed to see Fric and Frac on yesterday but was unable to walk them as it was raining.

The lady who wants to take on fric and Frac is called Yvonne Sherwood and she is the founder and administrator of rottweilers for adoption in Ireland. She lives in Galway, Ireland. She has asked us To contact Galway SPCA for personal references for Bartley Finnerty their inspector and his partner Yvonne Sherwood.

This is the mesage Yvonne sent me:

Rottweilers for Adoption in Ireland Ergun Xmas surprise for you , if you can arrange for fric and frac to come to me. I will guarantee that they will either find five star home or stay with me for life. Happy Xmas x x

I will start getting prices for transportation, blood tests, EU passport and estimated kennel fees.

I can also confirm we have recieved the first donation via PayPal for £100.

Have just Googled Galway SPCA and it seems to be a very well run organisation, in business for around 20 years. They must be doing something right! Hope they will be able to rehome these two. Hopefully will see you in the New Year!

The best quote I have received that is achievable is £2600*. I have asked the lady providing the forever home to contribute half of this. Therefore, I will also need to raise £1300.

In the last 48 hours I have raised £110 and she has raised a further £90.

I am also waiting on a further larger donation to clear at the bank.

All donations how ever received will be recorded on the gofundme account so everyone can keep track. Donations contributed by the forever owner will be identified as RottAdoptIreland.

I will post daily on our progress.

I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Together we will give Fric and Frac the second chance they deserve.

Here are a couple of links I think will help you have a better understanding of the work being done to help Fric and Frac reach their forever homes:

This first one is a community page set up Yvonne Sherwood, the lady taking on Fric and Frac. The page contains up to date pics and videos of the dogs and the efforts both parties are making to help the dogs.

The second link is for the group Yvonne founded to help rottweilers get adopted in Ireland which demonstrates the work she does in Galway for the many rescue dogs she helps.

Yes folks we have almost raised half of the quoted amount required to take Fric and Frac to Galway, Ireland. Of course I say it tongue in cheek when I say Frac could get left behind. Fric will be going no where until the money is raised for Frac to go too.

Hi Soner,

This is the second attempt to reply to your question. The first one disappeared when I hit the submit button

To date "We" have raised £1012* and Rottweilers for Adoption in Ireland (this is the facebook group the forever owner runs) has raised £273* (*Gross amount before any deductions from PayPal and GoFundMe.Com).

Yes I have nearly reached raising half of the amount required to send Fric and Frac to Ireland. In a perfect world both parties should contribute equally. If the new owner cannot raise sufficient funds this should not result in Fric and Frac remaining homeless. It is my commitment is to find new homes for Fric and Frac and therefore until the end of this month I will continue trying to raise the required funds.

If by the end of the month there remains a shortfall I have made arrangements to loan the remaining amount. This of course will require paying back.

Fric and Frac will have completed all the necessary blood tests and vaccinations by the end of this month and will be able to travel then.

I hope this clarifies my position, but if there are any further questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Regards BlueEyes.

Blue eyes. After there blood test don't they have to wait a while before they can go ? I think 3 months. Will they stay where they are now ? it must be expensive for you. is noone willing to foster them until they can go ? Then they could get used to home living ready for there new home. Just an idea.

Hi Sally, Fric and Frac will have completed the required waiting period for Rabies by the end of this month. They will remain where they are now. Yes it is an expensive option but I have had no offers of fostering since I started to take care of them in September. I am hope to speak to the courier over the weekend to try and get a confirmed date for their travel. Fortunately, the lady who wants to take on Fric and Frac is experienced with "problem dogs". She and her partner work for Galway SPCA. They have a 3 acre premise where the dogs will be staying. Fric and Frac are having a special area to themselves until they can be confidently released to mix with her other pets.

What happened to this 50/50 thing which was spoken about weeks ago. So suddenly that offer is not possible and you need money for both. Seems a bit unfair. I believe also you are appealing for monies until the end of the month only.

Firstly, I thought I had already answered this same question when posed by Soner?

Secondly, I also answered the same questions you posed on Facebook too, but you did not answer my question.

For the benefit of all the forum users I will explain once more.

Yes, ideally a 50/50 arrangement would have been perfect. Tell me what would you do if the other party cannot match the amount you raise? If I were to wait until the other party raised an equal amount it could take months in which time the cost will rise due to kennelling and vet costs. If the dogs remain in kennels they will think it is their home. They are already showing signs of boredom and are not exercised nearly enough.

Who is it unfair on? Myself? You do not hear me complaining. I only want what is in the best interest of Fric and Frac and in my opinion that is the offer recieved in Ireland. The lady who has offerred to take them on and her partner both work for Galway SPCA and they themselves take on and train "problem" dogs particularily Rottweillers.

Is it unfair on the KibKom forum members? It is a personal choice whether to donate or not and I respect that. I update on the forum for the benefit of those who have donated so that they are aware what progress I have made.

Is it unfair on those people who have not donated or helped in any way? No, because it is their decision and I respect that and they should respect my decision too.

No where have I said I am only collecting until the end of the month. However, this would be the most ideal time for Fric and Frac to travel for a number of reasons.

The weather is getting colder which will hinder travelling as the dogs will have to travel by road and ferry too. The earlier they get there the easier it will be for them to settle in and adjust to the weather conditions.

The dogs will have completed all their vaccinations, blood testing and rabies jabs by the end of the month.

The budget and quotes I were given were on the assumption the dogs travelled by the end of January.

Every day beyond the end of January will incurr more Kennelling costs and vaccinations while they remain here. In case anyone suggests Fostering, please bear in mind in over 4 months I have not recieved ONE offer from anyone to do so.

If sufficient funds are not raised by the end of the month, I have already arranged to take on a personal loan to pay for any shortfall. I will not be asking anyone to help me repay a loan to pay for somebody else's dogs to be given a second chance.

I am very grateful to everyone who has helped me because I could not have kept them off the street without your help.

My only gripe is there are very few "real" animal lovers in North Cyprus and they spend more time "infighting" and being negative when they should be collective and making a difference for those animals desperately in need of OUR help.

If anyone has any questions please feel free to ask me. I am very approachable. Just ask anyone who has actually met me on this forum or elsewhere.

Deep in my heart I want to believe this line of questioning is to evoke debate and not a personal vendetta.

Thank you for hearing me out.

I am so sorry to hear you have had to defend yourself in this way.

I personally follow the story of Fric & Frac & am not sure why you have had to do so, but for those of negative mind sets I would like to say the topic is clearly titled & you do not have to open the thread.

You have clearly explained each stage in their lives & there are contributions being made from Galway/Ireland with them all going into one pot.

Thus the total is what has been achieved so far & will go towards their journey to Ireland & hopefully a forever home.

I think you are doing a marvellous job & the only thanks will be from 2 very grateful dogs.

Thank you to the last two donors, there are some animal lovers out there. Thanks to Blue Eyes for your lengthy and I thought unnecessary explanation, but hopefully people will now understand what you have been doing for the past 4/5 months. I just hope we can raise the necessary amount without you having to resort to a personal loan. Many thanks to their original owner for zero contributions, I feel so angry!!!!
