Just been looking at flight prices for these two airlines , little to choose between them in cost or flight times and we can be flexible between Luton or Stansted .
Anyone got any recent experience to make a recommendation ?

I flew with Atlas Jet last summer, at the time of booking their prices were almost £250 cheaper than pegasus! I would defo fly with them again, nice planes, slightly more baggage allowance than pegasus and you get fed! On the trip from Ercan to Istanbul they served lovely hot cheese toasties and then a hot meal on the next leg of the journey.
Flight was on time, no probs at all!

Flown Pegasus from Stansted a few times. At the end of the day they are a basic, no frills airline. You pay for everything on top of the basic flight. Aircraft will land in Turkey, you will stay on and then approx 40mins - 1hr later will take off again for Ercan. No in flight entertainment so you need a book, DVD etc to keep you occupied. Service on board is OK. Not really that keen on them.

Overall we have decided that we would rather fly Turkish Airlines to Ercan even with the change of plane in Istanbul. Service better, baggage allowance, food and in flight entertainment. Plus if you are able to book well in advance the deals are pretty good. Alternatively we have used BA into Larnaca.

Have not used Atlasjet.

Not a good experience with flypigs last time.
Treated like a criminal and man handled to front of plane at Istanbul because first flight crew had not communicated with second crew about hand luggage. My bag was in bin behind me as when I boarded in London someone was in my seat. He moved but didn't move his bag. Second crew did not ask in English about hand luggage despite a TC saying ask the English people, me and the couple next to me, but we were not asked!
At istanbul flight delayed as extra bag was on board according to second flight crew.No it was mine and had been identified to first crew. Pounced on and manhandled when second crew made us all disembark with hand luggage, told I should be grovelling because I had caused the delay as I had not declared my bag!!!
No reply from Flypigs when I complained to customer services the first time.
Response to second complaint was a lecture on IATA baggage allowances and fuel consumption.
No reply from CEO of Pegasus when the matter was raised with him.
No apology for being man handled and humiliated.
All in all I was humiliated and disgusted by their actions.
No contest Atlas to Luton in future.
Sad really as I always used Pegasus as their timings were so good.

I will never, ever use Pegasus for UK flights again. The cabin crew were miserable and rude and seemed fed up that passengers had dared board the aircraft. The food was dreadful. We had paid for seating which didn't eventuate. And the final straw was when they cancelled our flight back from Manchester. We had to cut our holiday in the UK short by a week, missed meeting friends we hadn't seen since 2004 when we returned from the UK to Australia, stuffed up our holiday completely. A joke of an airline. I now use BA from Larnaca, great service, comfortable seats and good in-air service.
Do your best to grow old disgracefully.

Would probably fly anything but Pegasus if it wasn't for the fact that from taking my luggage off the Carousel to sitting down having a G & T in daughters house on Stansted side of Cambridge is 3/4 of an hour. No contest there.

Cooper, so did I until my last flight with them as mentioned above!
It is the total lack of response from customer service that has finished me with them.

Exactly - they are dreadful.

They put other people in our pre-booked and paid for seats, and treated us like dirt. We presume that the interlopers were "friends or relatives", as they didn't have boarding cards.

I finally gave up the subsequent struggle to have our money returned.

I would never travel with that shower again!

Some strong anti PGS comments which I can well understand.

For me it comes down to customer service and sadly PGS do not deliver. Would rather pay more for good service and pleasant on board staff. Also think that some of the issues could be the lack of understanding of either English or Turkish thus creating communication issues and misunderstandings.

So its BA, Turkish, Norwegian or even Easyjet for us. Easyjet are of course not everyones favourite but our experiences have been fine, we watch films on our tablet, take a good book and buy our own food. Sadly the seats are a little firm after 4hrs

Go back to UK several times each year, and use either Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, or last year, Atlasjet into Luton. Atlasjet, yes would definitely use them again. Luton was a nightmare, a lot of works going on, and the traffic was awful on the motorway. That does not reflect on Atlasjet of course, which I found great. Would defo use them again, once the works around the airport are complete, which they may now be.

The roadworks at Luton won't be finished for a long time but still no reason not to use Luton. in many ways the airport is superior to Stansted, and atlasjet while their planes are old are better than Pegasus. Unless you need a degree of flexibilty in your travel plans.
