Delays at the border?

The BRS have sent out a mail warning people that because of new Greek security procedures there have been very long delays both ways. If anyone is leaving via Larnaca they are advised to add an hour to their journey.

I am surprised this is not already mentioned on this forum as many people do cross over including us?

Guess you beat me to it, or did I bea tyou. Doesn't matter,but interesting that Owl Lady reckons no prob. Maybe they have stoppe,d but the story was the scanning of all passports/ Anyone else got any experience form, say, today?

We went South at Metehan on Tuesday around 10.30 back at 17.30 sailed straight through much quicker than usual.

We went south this week, metehan, passports scanned yes, faster than usual.

Are your passports "Chip & Pin" type with the symbol on the front? If not and they were still scanned, how was it done please? I have one of the old type passports that runs out next year with no "chip" in it.

Looked like a standard printer /scanner to mě. Yes they are the new style digital passports.

If anyone is going to get stopped its us!!

Coming back across the border today, 6 cars queued in front and we are stopped, they take only his passport into their "office".

Two of them examed it, I don't think they scanned it, eventually he returned and when questioned by himself as to what the problem is, received a very curt reply of "check". !!

I'll go by myself next time - can spend more money!!!
