Re: Mods
Hi Paddywack,
I would not knock 44 and no need to compare, this forum runs its own way in handling threads / members etc.
OK, seen which thread you are on about. I think Marion did the right thing in Locking. Was only going to turn into a battlefield.

Re: Mods
Some topics on Cyprus 44 were so emotional that they resulted in a small minority trading insults or making threatening and unpleasant responses to those who were trying not to get dragged down to their level.
I maintain it is better to nip things in the bud and either delete or lock a posting if there is any possibilty things could escalate out of control. What may be read as a bit of a joke or " banter " by one person, may be read as an insult by another. At times this may be seen as locking/deleting a post early, but it is done for the best reasons.
This is the Kibkom Forum and it has always been moderated in a fair way. If anyone is not happy with a thread or the way it was moderated they can always report it to a moderator who will always investigate further.
Have a nice day everyone.

Mods have a thankless task.
They do it in their spare time for the good of all.
They are not guardians of free speech - they simply keep things civil and legal.

Thought for a moment it had all kicked off on the "Bread flour in Ilelli thread!"
Some are wise and some otherwise.....

Re: Mods
It was me that called the person an idiot. Yes I felt emotional. I think I am qualified to be emotional when I have rescued 7 dogs, who were dumped like rubbish, from hunters/breeders.
I apologise for the rude word of 'idiot'
Some people on her who have replied to my posts, or read them will know that I am not a stirrer or generally rude.
Thank you to the people on here who have supporeted my post.

Re: Mods
Back to what posh in Devon was saying, one must remember tha t on here most people are not known to the others. Most people know me as I use my own name and have a picture, but I confess that many are a total mystery to m e, and I have no idea what you look like and certainly no idea on personality or the colour of your soul. So please accept that when words are read, they can have different effects on others.
There are many people on here who do wonderful thing s in this world, but don't necessarily talk about it, and they (like you) are unsung heroes, but when words are written they can indeed 'break your bones' worse than sticks or stones.
All of us when posting need to think of the effect on others . Just a little touch of Mrs Do-as-you-would-be-done=by.
We just don't want anyone to be offended or take offense on the forum, and words can get so 'lost in translation'.
We all want to love each other, but when we don't know who the 'each other' is, it gets difficult.
