Last MOT and Emissions Test were in early August 2009. Road Tax is due September 1st.
MOT is not due this year until Sept.6th - 19th, so will have no current MOT when Road Tax is due on Sept.1st Has anyone else been in this situation and, if so, what is the correct procedure? Advice would be most appreciated.

they changed the system a few years ago so until everyone has caught up there will be gaps we assume, now everyone has to fit into a window for doing it!

I don't see the problem - if your MOT is not due until the 6th, then the old one must still be valid on the 1st...

You have the whole month to tax the car so save time and one visit to the tax office. after the 6th get emission test done..go to the tax office get tax and pay for MOT at the same time..then off to the police station for MOT... all done in a couple of hours...

Thanks to you all for helpful replies. We hadn't realised we had a whole month in which to tax the car --thought it was only a matter of days, so will do as onslow suggests, and save ourselves a journey.
