Cost of Bottled Water

I thought the price of water would be standard at 4.50 TL - a bit like gas at 33TL?
I was in Tempo, K-glo the other day and nearly bought there for convenience but they wanted 6.50 or was it 6.20 either way no sale. Tempo has a reputation for being a bit pricey but it does have a good selection - see the lady who was trying to find "proper" porridge on another site. This price does seem too heavy handed though.
Today I was in Ya Beles where they have made some more improvements to the shop layout. Out of curiosity I enquired their price expecting a rock bottom figure but no they wanted 6TL!
If you are able and inclined to manhandle your bottles home it pays to check you are not paying for the extra effort!!!!

If you have your own bottle and live anywhere near Tatlisu use the council provided 24/7 service in the village centre at 1.5 TRY for 19 litres. You will have to fill the bottle and transport it though.

We go direct to the factory/supplier in Catalkoy on the top road coming from Ozankoy it's on the right hand side about 200yds before you reach the village.
We have three bottles so to make it worth the journey we get three at a time and they charge 3.50TL(10.50TL for the Three)

It does depend where you live and if you have water delivered. I am more than happy to pay my delivery man 6.50 for 19 litres as he carries it up 39 steps to the front door!

I paid 1,300TL for a RO system from a business in Karakum.

I then sold my water dispenser and the pump that I used to get water from a 19 litre bottle to my fridge, that supplied ice and water.

I do now not pay anything for my absolutely perfect drinking water. None of those bottles that the water sometimes tasted a bit off.

I do not wait for delivery. I do not have to store these bottles. I do not have to pick them up and put them on the dispenser. I do not have to have a near stroke trying to get the bottle off the dispenser when the supplier started using thicker wrappers around the top of the bottle.

I can now get up to 240 litres every 24 hours direct from my house storage tank, that is filled up from the Belediyere.

Now I read the cost of bottled water is going up and so the time it will take me to recoup my "investment" will be shorter.

Yes, I will have to replace the filters, that will cost about 250TL. But if I use it the same as I did the one I had in the UK, that will be about every five years.

Butterflyaway.
I could not possibly sell my cold water machine, it has a ice maker underneath for the G&T's.
