This winter I have noticed that the paving slabs around the villa have got black mould spots growing on them.
I thought of using jayes fluid but can't stand the smell of it. So if anyone has any idea's I would be
appreciative.

Good old-fashioned vinegar... choose which type you prefer - I'd suggest apple (Elma) as it's cheaper and actually smells less like a Chippy. Try a small patch and see how it goes.

Cheap Bleach, diluted to about 1 part bleach to 10 parts water will still give you a concentration of around 5,000 parts chlorine per million (that's over 1000 times more chlorine than is used to control algae in swimming pools!).

Use a watering can, and a stiff brush to give it a good scrub.

Rinse off afterwards, but keep it away from plants!

If you don't fancy ending up with 'spotty' shoes and trouser legs from the chlorine, you can always use Kosla oxy-action bleach, as used in the washing machine. It is a lot more expensive, but I'm told it works wonders on mouldy paving slabs and decking.

Have tried a test area with vinegar and will now go and get some bleach. Thanks very much for both of your suggestions.

The vinegar will kill the mould - cleaning it off is a different matter- a pressure washer is best.

Be careful with a pressure washer, it takes the surface of the slabs then it becomes worse and worse

I get the same thing all over my drive way, but being a lazy git I just wait for the summer sun to dry it up and then brush it away.
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again.

Thanks for all replies and yes I do want to avoid pressure washing if possible.
