The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
There is a beautiful Golden Retriever/Labrador living on the streets in Karaoglanoglu, thankfully being fed by a kind person who has also made a make-shift shelter for her on waste ground opposite to her Villa.
Golden Lady was taken to the Vets yesterday and was checked over - no medical conditions but obviously she is still not in top con dition due to the neglect she has suffered. The Vet is confident that with time, big doses of TLC , food and warmth, she will thrive and soon be back to how she should be.
He thinks that she is about 7 years old so not a spring chicken but still with many years ahead of her - could anyone help to make those happy ones in a home of her own.
The kind person who is looking out for her cannot rehome her and circumstances dictate that soon Golden Lady will not be safe where she is now.
Last year we were lucky enough to find a loving home for a very similar dog who we nick-named Lady Tempo.
Could we push our luck and find such a home for Golden Lady - with your help, even if you cannot - you might know of someone who can !
Golden Lady is a such a sad but gentle dog and would make someone a loving companion and friend. Could you open your hearts and home to her? - We would help in anyway possible- Thank you for reading - BBB's Other Half.- Will try and get pictures !

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
Lady had a lovely couple go and see her yesterday and was very happy to jump in their car and go off to their home but unfortunately it did not work out for her as the resident cats would not accept her - she had to be brought back and with a bloody nose to boot!
The person who has been feeding her has cats and Golden Lady just wags her tail at them and does not bother with them at all but the one's yesterday obviously did not like it that this strange, new animal had been brought into their home!
She is still out there, waiting and hoping ! It's very sad to see her greeting every car that pulls up, with a waggy tail obviously thinking that whoever - has come to take her home.
Golden Lady needs nourishment, a warm bed and lots of TLC and she will give back so much love and loyalty !
She has not been 'done' as yet and the Vet said she would now be too old to get pregnant but we think she should still have the operation to stop her suffering unpleasant and unnecessary symptoms and we would happily help with the cost of this.
Thank you to the couple yesterday for caring but now we need some other person/family to give this gentle 'Golden Lady' a chance !

Sorry to contradict a vet, but a female of 7 or even older can become pregnant and even if she doesn't, then the older she becomes there more chance there is of her developing "ladies" problems, not least cancer and other illnesses. And of course she will be continually pestered and fought over by male dogs.

It really is a shame the couple could not try a little longer. It takes time for new animals to settle in and get used to the other animals. There are always teething troubles but in years of having dogs and cats together they have always sorted out the pecking order in a few days, with patience

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
I AGREE WITH THAT. mY THREE ANIMALS HAVE SORTED THEMSELVES OUT AND SPENDMUCH OF THE TIME HATING EACH OTHER, EXCEPT WHEN IT IS COLD AND THEY ALL CURL AORUND ME FACING THE FIRE. (sorry caps stuck).
It is a shame that longer time could not have been given - a real shame, but Mrs BBB's idea is a good one. Have the poor creature operated on. Maybe a few folk could help share the cost, but it would be a terrible shame if she was operated on and then did not have a home to go to.

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
Totally agree with your comments Sophie and thank you Marion for your offer towards Vets bill but we would happily fund this if she had a home to go to.
At the moment we don't think she is in the right condition to be put though the operation but with a little building up and TLC she would be fine.
New day tomorrow and you just never know - Keep safe ' Golden Lady' and we will keep on trying!
BBB's Other Half - Wishing, hoping and praying !

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
We have just spent two hours in the company of the very regal 'Golden Lady' who now responds to the name of Buffy. She met our cocker spaniel Princess Ruby for the first time and they were lovely together. One instance when Golden Lady gave a quick high pitched bark to Ruby but that was because she felt she wanted to play and didn't know how to - quite sad.
She has met three of our dogs now and got on with them all with no aggression at all
She kept checking that Ruby was OK when she was being groomed and just lay patiently underneath the table -waiting!
Her coat and condition has improved since we first met her but there is still a way to go for her - just need to find the someone who will give her the patience, time, care and love she would respond to so quickly.
We think she is frightened of cats after observing her this morning. That could be because of what happened earlier in the week or just because she has not been socialised with them.
Our dogs do not mix with cats now but what we found when they did in the past, the Cat was Boss!
Golden Lady is that - golden in colour and golden in years! Could you make a place for her in your home and hearts?
With your help -can we please not keep her waiting much longer !
BBB's Other Half -Thank you.

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
BBB and I are absolutely over the moon to be able to tell you that as from Monday - Golden Lady will have a home of her own!
Thank you to all of you that have supported us and to the ones that have been working with us in trying to do this for her and to the lovely people who cared enough to try for her, even though it didn't work out.
She will be loved and cherished in her new home, without a doubt !
Thank you once again - BBB's Other Half.
As soon as she is deemed strong enough, she is going to be neutered - the best thing for her to give her a chance of a longer, healthier life !

Time for a celebration. Well done you two, and a big hug to whoever it is taking on Buffy (the Vampire Slayer???) .
Good to hear good news in a sometimes dark canine world.

If this is going to be a typical North Cyprus fiasco we may never get a result.

Re: The Karaoglanoglu Golden Lady
I would just like to thank Soner and Kibkom for being here basically because the Forum has enabled BBB and I to find loving homes for a number of animals that we rescued off the streets. Where would these animals be now if we had not been able to do this?
The original topic of this post is proof enough - BBB and I are not close friends of Soner or any others to do with the Forum.
Thank you once again Kibkom - BBB's Other Half - on behalf of the dogs who now have a life and families of their own.

Thank you BBB's, I am glad that the forum helps, as it does in many ways.
Hope to meet up one day, as I have done with quite a few Kibkom members.
