The dogs have EU Pet Passports are therfore "qualify" to travel from a number of ways. The final decision lays with the dates they travel and whether the forever owner can collect the dogs from the UK or the courier will take them door to door. I will advise interested parties further once I have a definitive date.

Kind Regards

How can they have EU Pet Passports ? They can only be issued in EU Countries for pets who are in the EU. TRNC is NOT an EU Country and cannot issue Pet Passports. Fric and Frac are in the TRNC - they are non EU dogs.
The entry requirements for pets travelling from Non EU (eg TRNC) into EU are very different to those that apply when pets travel from one EU Country to another.

I am locking this thread to investigate further, as I have been informed that illegal activity will be taking place with transfer of dogs to Ireland.

Kibkom will not support any form of illegal activity and will not allow the forum to be used for any form of crime.

I will inform all once I have investigated further.

Firstly, thank you for unlocking this thread.

Secondly, currently there are 3 options for taking Fric and Frac to Galway, Ireland.

Option one is for a a courier to take them door to door.
Option two is for someone to drive them to Kos via Tasucu and Bodrum. From Kos another courier can take them on to Ireland.
Option three is that someone drives all the way to Ireland with the dogs.

Option one was quoted by Cengiz Sumerman.

A: Courier Fee = 7279 Euros, £5475 or 20013 TL

This does not include

Transfer from Dublin Airport to Galway
Export licence
Rabies Jabs
Serology Tests
Serology courier fee
Passport/Microchip
Kennelling for 4 months
Vet fees

B: This is estimated at 2633 Euros, £1981 or 7239 TL. (I have used XE.com for the current exchange rates which are as follows: £1 = 3.6542 TL or 1.3294 Euros).

Grand total = 9912 Euros, £7457 or 27253 TL

This is obviously the worse case scenario, but which ever option is chosen will be on top of B:

I hope to receive option 2: prices from Animal Couriers next week.

I certainly do not think option was is achievable as I have only received little over £2000 in donations to date.

I am currently trying to find an alternative to kennelling to reduce the costs.

If option 2: is over my budget then option 3 it is. I will take them myself if I have to, but to do so I will have to take 2 weeks unpaid leave from work (which I cannot afford).

I will endeavour to update the forum as soon as I have further details.

Lastly, I sent their real owner a copy of the costs from Sumerman and his response was "Good Luck".

Regards

Blue Eyes

Thank you Soner for unlocking this thread. Now maybe we can get down to the serious business of raising some more money to rehome these two. As I am not allowed to swear on this forum, I will refrain from commenting about their original owner, who has just walked away from his responsibilities. May he rot in H--l. Please, please is there anyone out there who would foster them until they can leave the island. Kennelling is costing 50tl per day, which Blue Eyes is funding out of his own pocket at the moment? Any other suggestions would be welcomed!

By agreement between myself and my moderators, and to conform with TRNC laws regarding raising money, no posts were to be allowed on the Forum that sought to raise money, except from a registered source.

We accepted that occasionally there may be an urgent case, or one that derived a lot of public sympathy, where we would in effect “turn a blind eye” for a short period to allow that case to be helped.

The Fric and Frac was a case where we have allowed something to be promoted on the site, and it has run far longer than was originally anticipated due to the lack of promised funds from Ireland. Questions as to how long was this going to go on for was raised after I had numerous complaints about this thread constantly popping up for such a long time. Also, the cashing in by the business in Ireland selling their animal products seemed to question where this was all heading.

The best quote I have received that is achievable is £2600*. I have asked the lady providing the forever home to contribute half of this. Therefore, I will also need to raise £1300.

You had raised over £2000, and stated that you would take out a loan if full amount not achieved by person in Ireland.

It is my commitment is to find new homes for Fric and Frac and therefore until the end of this month I will continue trying to raise the required funds.

If by the end of the month there remains a shortfall I have made arrangements to loan the remaining amount.

I was willing to leave thread open until the end of January - but decided to close the thread after reading post 54.

What happened to this 50/50 thing which was spoken about weeks ago. So suddenly that offer is not possible and you need money for both. Seems a bit unfair. I believe also you are appealing for monies until the end of the month only.

Just to put the record straight, this was misinterpreted by you in post 41 - what Marion had actually meant by "unfair", was the situation that you had been put in was "unfair" of the person stating that they would provide the other half of the costs and yet did not.

"The dogs have EU Pet Passports are therefore "qualify" to travel from a number of ways."

It may be that you have been given incorrect information/advice, as the TRNC is not an EU member so your post suggests that you may have obtained/or going to obtain the pet passports illegally from RoC and there may have been intention to smuggle dogs over to the South to transport them off the island. This would be 1) Stupid 2) Irresponsible and 3) Inconsiderate; if anything went wrong, then the dogs could be put down and monies donated by the generous public would have been donated in vain.

TRNC is not part of the EU Pet Passport scheme and Pet Passports CANNOT be issued from here. TRNC pets travel into EU on different paperwork called 3rd Country Health Certificate which is accompanied by records of micro chip, rabies vaccinations, blood test for rabies antibodies AND a compulsory 3 month wait (after the blood test) in TRNC. Only then can the 3rd Country Health Certificate be issued and the pet can travel into EU/UK. They can then move from 1 EU country to another for a limited time - but after that time period if they wish to move within the EU a vet needs to transfer their TRNC documents into a EU Pet Passport.

Pets from RoC - do not need the same documentation AND 3 month wait. They need a EU pet passport (which involves the micro chip and rabies vaccination - then 21 days wait) and they can then travel into EU/UK. No blood test AND no 3 month wait needed.

Some owners - to avoid the blood test and 3 month rule to take advantage of cheaper flight options - illegally obtain a EU Pet Passports from RoC. The rules here and in RoC forbid TRNC to RoC pet travel. But the pet is smuggled over the border into RoC and flies from there posing as a pet that ORIGINATES from RoC and has never been in TRNC. So, the intention of smuggling a pet into RoC is solely for the purpose of avoiding the EU/UK rules dictating pet travel from TRNC (and other 3rd Countries).

I have asked the dog's owner to help with the cost's

It is none of my business but just wondered the following: Who are the owners? Are they friends? Why did they lumber a problem with you which should have been their responsibility? After 3 months, why are they not acting responsibly by trying to help you re-home THEIR dogs? (No need to answer)

I am sorry to say that this shortfall is not the responsibility of the forum. I would seriously consider using the monies donated to help find a home for the dogs in the TRNC - I am sure something will come up given time.

I will leave this thread as a locked sticky until the end of Feb with a final post directing members, that wish to help and support your cause, to your facebook page.
