I think the author of this piece is spot on. I have extensive experience of the NHS over many years and think the treatment I have received has been absolutely first class. It may vary from one county to another but I have always been very impressed with my particular hospital and their staff.
I am fairly irritated by those who have various tests/treatments done here (privately) and then complain that they 'would have to wait forever in the UK'.....Not if they went private in the UK they wouldn't. Thats comparing apples with oranges.
The NHS has its problems - mainly money and a top heavy management - but thank God for it.

You are absolutely spot on Trooper.
When it has gone people will realise the deficiencies of the american system of insurance !
I hope the Tories do not get to finish what Thatcher started in the 80s when she interfered in the running of the NHS by introducing "managers".
