Radio 2 is no longer being transmitted in Windows Format
"Radio 2 is no longer being transmitted in Windows Format" This was the message broadcast over our Roberts WiFi radio. Anyone know where or how we can get Radio 2 back on? What is the new format?

It does look like the BBC has decided to end streaming in Windows media player format.

However it should be possible to 're tune' you internet radio to pick up the stream in the new format. Exactly how you do that varies from device to device and I am not personally familiar with this radio. If you can find a website with a faq of forum for this radio I am sure there will be information there on how to 're tune' to the new format stream.

Yes from the BBC website it works fine, because when the BBC decided to no longer user windows media player encoding / format they made sure their own website worked with the new format they replaced windows media player format with. The original poster however is listening to it via his Roberts internet radio and that was set up to use the old format and when the BBC stopped using that format then the radio no longer works for this station (and it, the radio, says why - because that format is no longer supported by the BBC). It should be possible to get the Roberts radio to work instead with the new format (just as the bbc have done on their own website for example).

Thanks to all!
I rarely listen to the radio here in the UK (too busy), and never even thought of "catchup" on the net; but just seeing this thread, I clicked on Erol's link - and what do I see? The Van Morrison story! Brilliant!
Once again, thanks to everyone and especially Erol!
(Can't wait for my Karsiyaka holiday in April!)
