After crossing the border, turn right into Arasta Street. At the end of this street, bear right and then left and you will see the Belediye Bazar on your right.

Should have said, this is assuming that you are crossing from the Greek side.

Having drove the back streets of Lefcosia since 1983 your directions will find this person lost in a maze of small streets in the old City.
It is quite difficult to drive to the covered market as the council have changed the one way system, I would not even attempt to give directions to a driver who does not know the City well.
Giving street names will not help unless this driver knows were he is going, the street name are hard to find, but one piece of info is if you are in the old town look on the corner of the street and it will have a small arrow under the street name telling you which way you can drive. ( they are small blue signs ).
If you can find the Ledra crossing there is a car park on the left in the moat just before the border crossing, park there and come out and turn right and walk in to the old town and ask as you go, it would take you about 15 mins to find. there is also a blue line painted on the street, follow this, but there is no gold at the end, only the old town and the shopping area.

There is a car park right next to the market that charges 5TL to park all day.
If you're walking around the old city just keep following the signs to 'bandabuliya'

There is some further information here:

Personally I feel the criticism on that site is a bit harsh. This has been a quality restoration, though sadly it is taking time to get the footfall back into the market. Locals probably got used to shopping elsewhere while it was closed.
