Listening to BBC Radio on Multimax
Can anyone tell me if listening to online Radio on the Multimax package would affect the download limits for watching TV later on in the day?

Re: Listening to BBC Radio on Multimax
Not if you were listening before noon, and even after that by only a small amount.
According to the BBC website, 500MB would be used for one hours 'viewing' or 80 hours 'listening' - very approximate figures, of course.
So on that basis, 8 hours listening to the radio after 12 noon would only use up 6 minutes worth of 'viewing'.
Even then, if you do manage to exceed 2GB data usage (at least 4 hours, according to the BBC, and probably more like 5 or 6 hrs) after 12 noon (and before midnight) the speed is still only reduced by a moderate amount, and is still perfectly fast enough for normal viewing.
I wouldn't worry about it!

I find this a useful guide to help prevent you exceeding your Multimax usage limit-

just for public info, in the new Gold and Platinum packages, traffic management does not start until 4pm. Anything you do between midnight and 4pm is totally limitless.

On a bit of a tangent you can use software on a given device (laptop / pc etc) to monitor and record your internet usage. There are many programs for this out there but I personally use and have used for over 10 years now one called DU meter
http://www.hageltech.com/dumeter/about
It is not free but you can try it for 30 days for free. Using this you can see in 'real time' exactly how much data is being uploaded from and or downloaded to your device. I personally have a graph displaying such constantly on my 2nd monitor. If I see data going from or too my machine and I do not know what it is I can then 'track down' what is actually sending or receiving such data. I can also see 'how much' data different activities actually use, be it streaming TV or radio or gaming or skyping or whatever. If you are at all interested in what is being sent in and out from your machine then DU Meter or something like is worth trying out in my opinion.
