Sorry guys but I have been living in Malatya for over ten years and used to walk around to the waterfall nearly every day at one stage. It was a bit of a mess, and made worse by the erection of electric poles and sub station etc, etc,but was usually flowing, even if only a trickle. H ave not been round for a while for various reasons but, but but, it has flowed every year. Stops sometimes in the dry season, but to imply it has not flowed for 15 years is complete twaddle!!! (I avoided using swear words - but this really is a totally misleading title).

Would add that I cannot post this comment on the Facebool page as one has to join the group in able to comment, and as I don't wish to join the group, they are obviously going to continue on with the illusion that the waterfall has been dry for 15 years. Oh dear!

Marions we totally agree with you. Absolute twaddle! We have only been here 3.5 years, most certainly flowed during this time! 2014 being the least flow.

Thanks Becker. What really should happen is for this piece of 'fibbing' to be removed. It does show the waterfall in a good state of 'glory' and it is great that it has been tidied up so. Will go round and take a look when it stops raining and when my dog is ready for 'walkies' again. But it is a tad upsetting that Facebook contains fibs about TRNC which has a difficult enough battle for acceptability.

But thanks for showing what is happening on Facebook in the name of Malatya.

Went only last year and it was flowing. Not a torrent, but a steady stream.

Ha ha. I said all along it should be a tourist spot and when the former owners of the village lived here, it was their Sunday afternoon place. Benches for people to sit and they used to picnic. Then it got neglected. Water virtually always flowed, but if indeed the tourists come ( ) maybe the shop/café in the village will re-open and some relax life could come to Malatya.

This would then 'justify' the fibs, Frontalman, and I might almost agree with you,.

But of course they have to advertise it as worth seeing and advertising is not their best skill - apart from great big hoardings with moving pictures at roundabouts which wed well trained drivers ignore.
