How? laptop to TV

Hi can anyone advise me where I can buy one of these cables. It is so I can watch programs from my laptop on the tv. I also need to know if it would work on my old tv, I have not got a flat screen. I have been to a few computer shops but they have never seen a cable like this. Any advice would be appreciated.
