Disappointment at a fine dining place

We tonight decide to go to Ibeli restaurant .
We felt it was very expensive for not very good food .
We are experienced in dining in good establishments and this to us was very overpriced .
We had artichoke starter ,which we felt was very bland .
We also had lobster with spaghetti which again was very poor both in taste and value for money at 125 tl .
The only good point was the host who was very pleasant .
We shall not be going again .

Artichokes are not in season now so maybe they were frozen.

It started out as a very good restaurant but sadly has gone down hill which is sad as it has a really nice atmosphere. We went a few months back and to be honest the food was poor, expensive and the portion size was very small. They also charge extra for mustard and parmesan which I have never come across before. The owner/chef walking around with "Executive Chef" on his jacket was quite amusing!

To be honest I am not sure why any "good" restaurant needs to supplement its menu with frozen ingredients which the artichokes most likely were and with the exception of prawns I avoid frozen seafood which the lobster likely was.

Not enough restaurants use fresh local produce.

Sorry but the fruit and veg stalls are full of fresh artichokes. I am not saying these were fresh or tinned but am stating a fact.

We also went a few weeks ago and we're very disappointed. The food was well below the standard expected of a supposedly fine dining restaurant and grossly overpriced that is the food and the drinks. We did have a quite word with the owners wife who was extremely rude and very loud. I understand a lot will like this establishment but never again will we go and certainly would not advise anyone to try it.

They really did the dirty on a friend of mine over a business matter so I would never go anywhere near them especially her!

It was my late husbands favourite place as well. Always a special occasion place and never let us down. Going next Saturday, my treat for a friend's 70th as she will be back in the UK.

My mistake then I was told they were off a menu as out of season.

It is in the old Town in Kyrenia, what used to be Sele. It is more of a Trattoria then "Fine Dining".

We went to I Belli soon after it opened, we thought it was expensive for the standard of food served, it wasn't anything special.

I've seen some big thistle shaped things on long stalks in Supreme which I assumed were fresh artichokes - perhaps I was mistaken if they are not in season?
