Can someone give me directions to this waterfall please?

I'm beginning to wonder if it's all a dream and I didn't really see.a photo of the waterfall in Cyprus Today. Not one response to my question, despite 279 views, so I can only assume the waterfall doesn't exist?

Sadly you are a bit late! The waterfall is only a very temporary affair after a lot of rain, and is no longer a waterfall. You have not received a reply because it is tucked away up in the foothills in a spot only known to the few expats that dare to brave the risk of poisoning to walk their dogs up there.

You may be thinking of the waterfall at Malatya. If you go up to the Black Olive, then turn left, follow the road round to the right, Keep going up the hill till you get to a tee junction, turn left and follow the road to the end,where it becomes a rough track. There is a waterfall there. Don't know if it will still be flowing but it was about 3 weeks ago.

The waterfall at Malatya. The first photo shows how it looked after all the recent rain. And the second photo shows how the areas all around the falls looks after the tourists have left after viewing the falls. This load of plastic bags was left by a coach load of locals this Sunday gone.

If you leave Karsiyaka village turning right at the old Greek church (or left if you are coming from Lapta direction), then continue up the mountain road after it turns sharply left, then continue on for 400 metres or so, the waterfall is on the left, well back from the road. It is not a waterfall at the moment as it is, and has been, dry for some time.

Frontalman, I think you and I are referring to different waterfalls! The one that I know is well away from the village and any roads, and could only be viewed on foot or from a distance by 4x4. It was running well a couple of weeks ago, then stopped, and today was running again but not vigorously like before.

There are several waterfalls in the foothills to the west of Karsiyaka that I have come across walking our dogs, which are still spouting water. I'm not going to list them as you may be likely to run into herds of goats as you search for them. The one I described is the one on the Karsiyaka trail walk, which, I was told by locals, is the most historically famous (????). I'm not sure which one you are talking about, can you give me a landmark, or point close by? If it's the one which you find by driving around the back of the Blue House Garden restaurant at Guzelzali Evleri, then turning right halfway up the hill, parking on the bend then walking a few hundred yards, then I know about it.

The one that I see is accessible from the tracks leading into the hills from the back of the football stadium, passing the (also) temporary lake, which is now just a bit of a bog. It's a bit tricky to get to from this point, involving some steep climbs, a herd of sheep and quite often a few goats, but worth the effort when it is in full flow.

Anyone wishing to find this one on foot would just have to follow the river bed back. You will meet the river bed when following the Karsiyaka trail (now available in print from Tourist offices, I believe).
