Fabulous news on the cricket front. Nigel Holman who has (with others) worked tirelessly with great stamina and enthusiasm reports that "
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Cricket Association is now officially registered with the Government. " he further adds "
It has been a long and difficult process and many times it appeared we wouldn’t succeed. However, my Turkish teacher, Hale Silifkeli has been amazing and doggedly refused to give up. Without her help we would not be where we are today."
What is even more exciting is that due to Nigel's efforts North Cyprus cricket will be recognized internationally because as he says "
Next Saturday is the Cyprus Cricket Association’s AGM in Limassol. They are proposing to formally appointed us solely responsible for cricket in the TRNC. As you probably already know, they are the ICC representatives for Cyprus, so effectively we will be recognised internationally as well."
Congratulations to all involved in ensuring this move forward for cricket and north Cyprus.
Today’s registration allows our Association to continue developing cricket in the TRNC, which with everyone’s help, 2015 should be a great year.
All the best,
NIGEL
