Where to dispose of tin cans ?.

I remember reading here on the forum that a recycling project for cans was going to be started soon. I began collecting mine straight away. Anyone know where it is?. Or has it not been set up yet.

I have never heard of this but I do know there is a sorting plant at Dikmen rubbish tip were they sort plastic, tins, ect for recycling.

I saw something in Cyprus Today about 2-3 weeks ago that recycling of drinks cans was starting up in aid of a children's charity, the initiative was called CanKid, and that there would be various places where the receptacles would be located.
One of these was Lemar supermarkets but I haven't been to Lemar since to see if there is anything there. Just driven past Lemar Catalkoy but couldn't see anything.

I've thrown the paper out so I can't check it, but I am saving my cans.

I had a PM from a lady who had seen my post on the forum and she sent me a link. As far as it says the receptacles for the tin cans are only in Nicosia so far. Easiest one to find is, just as you drive in through Kyrenia Gate. Must take mine next time I go to Nicosia but I don't go very often.

That's why the receptacles for the tin cans ın the Kyrenia district seem to be ravines.... çok ayıp

Yesterday I sent a reply saying where there is one in Girne, but messaged disappeared into the ether somewhere. I think you will find the large bin (covered in artificial grass) just by the exit to the main Girne Car park (the one by the small lottery hut) is one of the type you are referring to. (having said that it might be for plastic bottles) The Mayor said about 4 weeks ago "expats know about recycling bins and I am hoping they will show the way" or words to that effect. Yet again its we lot who are supposed to recycle and the rest come up our road and dump into the ravine.
