Esentepe utility bills

Can anybody tell me if the Esentepe Belediye administers the council AND property tax?

If so, can this be paid in at the council office in the village in advance? Even better, do they do direct debit facility?

Reason I ask is at the moment we use our MC to pay our bills (at a cost) as we do not live here full time, but we want to see if we can do this ourselves to save us paying our MC to do it.

Hence we are thinking............

Electric: Looking at opening a bank account to DD Kibtec
Water: Pay up front in the village
Property/Council tax: ???

Appreciate any responses.

The Belediye collect both property tax and council tax. The property tax can be paid in 1or 2 instalments, full amount by end of April or half by end of April and rest by end of September. Council tax (rubbish collection, Mossie spraying, etc) is now collected monthly if you have had new water meter installed. It works out at 22.22 per month plus 30 per month for the new meter(1st year only). Of course, you can pay it all up front at the same time as loading up your card for anticipated water use.
I don't believe they do DD but someone may know better.

Thanks for the reply aylin, so could I in theory pay them a sum of money to cover the next lot of property tax whatever that figure may be, as after June this year we will probably not be over again until Easter 2016. In essence I'm saying would I hold an account of sorts with them that I load up and they deduct whatever the charge is which would leave me a balance of xxx TL.

Not sure, you seem to be able to do that with council tax as it is now on the prepay card issued for the new meters, so you load the card up and can ask for amounts to be apportioned to council tax, meter cost and/or water. Property tax is handled separately, we still get an annual invoice, around this time of year, so I don't know if you can prepay it. Best speak to Hassan at Belediye and he will advise.

guru, do you not have a neighbour you can trust to do this for you with a 'kitty' you leave? I do this same service for my neighbour - she left me with a kitty, which is in the bank and I then pay her Belediye bills as they are due and then notify her of her statement of account with the receipts left in her villa. No cost to her, as I'm paying my bills at the same time. That said, we are, currently, not on mains H2O and dread its expensive start-up cost (1600 TL meter) arrival.

Hi Tom, unfortunately almost all of us are 'swallows' on our site, so not really anyone resident all the time to enable us to ask.
