For those folks who walk their dogs on the old coast road at Bahçeli between Crystal Bay and the estate at the top of the hill heading East towards Roots be aware poison has been laid somewhere. Deepest sympathies to Ann and John. RIP Bella.

Is there livestock to be protected, etc, etc? If not, why do they do it. And why can't they warn locals that this has been done. Any point in asking the local Muhtar to get people to advise when poison has been put down. Otherwise it is just sheer vindictiveness. Horrible. So sorry for anyone who loses an animal in this way. Thanks for the warning.

It seems possible that the poison was put down by someone who started keeping chickens on land next to his garden and just by a fox's den. The foxes have also been poisoned. The price of eggs is very high.

Its not rocket science to keep chickens in a pen safe from foxes, but totally inhumane to kill animals indiscriminately by poison, a slow lingering death that no creature deserves.

Agree not rocket science, just a bit of common sense, which is not very thick on the ground as far as cypriots and animals are concerned.

So sorry for this poor dog and it's owners. Poisoning is a disgusting way to die and it's about time proper controls were out on the sale of it.
I always carry Atropin and a syringe when walking my dog. This gives them a fighting chance if they pick up poison and only costs approx 21TL
My thoughts are with the owners. Please be vigilant everyone.
