Another shed burgled!
Friends arrived out to their Ozonkoy bungalow last night for their three month "swallow" visit.
Went to help them unload their garden furniture today and the pad lock on the shed had been cut and replaced to look as normal. A box of things taken but bicycle and garden furniture all left behind.
I know there was a thread a few weeks ago about shed thefts seems they are ongoing sadly.

Re: Another shed burgled!
If the padlock was replaced to look undisturbed then that usually means that someone else (with a bigger vehicle) would have called later to pick up the big stuff.
I think your friend came out just in time.
What else can we do other than fit a padlock? Sheds are not really suitable for fitting with a mortice lock.
Crime is definitely on the increase here, and the low crime rate is one of the reasons we came to live here!

Do you mean, once they hear about it, they come around - clean up the mess and charge a fortune?Keithcaley wrote:Please report it to the police if you haven't already done so! - Their clear-up rate is phenomenal...
Only joking - Yes I think the success in tracking down those guilty of such crimes are really quite favourable compared to other nations (no names no pack drill - oh OK, like the UK then... ) I was burgled in Woodcote (South Oxfordshire) and the police told me that unless I could give the name and address of the burglar there was no chance of me getting my goods back! What a waste of time reporting the crime that was....
At least here the police have a nose for who is suddenly in funds or has goods that they don't have an history of possessing....

Yes the Police do make a mess! We had a garage burgled but fortunately the burglars were disturbed. Stuff was put outside ready for loading! The police finger printed the garage and goods with black powder, could have been soot! It was over everything! In Uk they use a white silver powder.
