By Walts, do you mean "Walter Mittys"?
If so, do people really turn up to a meeting of ex-Royals and pretend to be ex-Royals themselves?

People turn up at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day pretending to be ex members of the SAS! Other Regts/Corps are available.

Kaiserphil; I am afraid that we have had people turn up pretending to be former members of the Corps.
Sad but true.We had a rather bad experience with a chap who claimed all sorts of things and even turned up on Remebrance Sunday a few years ago with various medals that were not earned......not to mention a Vietnam medal ! So there are some odd people out there. They of course get found out fairly quickly but we would rather they didn't bother to try.
The Corps is a fairly small 'family'so it is a daft thing to do but it doesn't stop the really dopey people.
