Could someone please remind me of the significance of of 0800 numbers. I had an idea they were "free" to caller, but think I may be mistaken.
Can they be accessed from overseas?

I have used them from Germany Keith, dialling "0044 800 etc", and I cant recall being charged.
Having said that, there seem to be far fewer 0800 numbers these days, more like 0300 and other chargeable codes.
They have 0800 numbers here, also in the USA, though I haven't tried calling US ones.

have used 0800 nos.from here using voipwise for free.
