Stolen puppy esentepe area

My French bulldog puppy has gone missing late last night/early this morning. I had two of these, they go everywhere together, but this morning only one was here!! This has happened to me before and has happened again!!! I am absolutely furious!! He definitely has not wandered off, as the two of them stay in my garden, not ones that wander. He is 10 months old and is a brindle color. I live just down the road from esentepe village. If anyone knows anything please please contact me. His brother is missing him desperately, we all are.

Anyone with pedigree pets seems to be a target.... I'm sorry to say they find it all too easy to steal. Hopefully your dog was chipped and this otherwise useless system can be put to good use at least this once and reunite the owner with their property.

Groucho, I couldn't agree more. At the time micro chipping seems an expensive bit of nonsence, but it was more by good look than good judgement that an owner and his dog were reunited at the KAR dog show. A microchip would have solved the problem in seconds.

Given that they've passed this law on chipping dogs the police should have the chip readers in all cars so that they can enforce it otherwise what's the point?

Blue dream, I take it that you have informed the police?

Good idea to inform the police and give them a picture. We did this when we found a dog recently, didn't want to be accused of stealing it at some later stage. Of course, it wasn't chipped so how can anyone claim ownership?
Good luck with finding your dog - saw the picture on Facebook so will keep an eye out.

I'm so sorry to hear of this.

My Jasper is a puggle. A cross between a pug and a beagle. Local builders have expressed more than an interest in his 'beautiful face and colour' and told me I should mate him with their french bulldog.
When I said he had had the snip they couldn't believe it! They asked me why? I told them in no uncertain terms that we didn't need puppies with no one to look after them on the streets and that one beautiful dog is enough and not a commodity to be bred and sold over and over again!

There aren't that many of these beautiful breeds around so I will keep a keen eye out in the Bellapais/Catalkoy area and if need be ask people how long they have had their dog!

Hi. Thank you Keith for putting my dogs picture on here. Still haven't found him. Police gave been informed, border police been informed and all the vets. Somebody must know someone who is taking these dogs... Am so angry!!! I am in the esentepe area, so other dog owners beware and keep a look out for strange cars going past your villa.

When we 'lost' our dog We put an ad in Kibris Newspaper with a reward and we had a phone call within hours of the advert being printed. Happily reunited and now our dear dog is kept only in the back garden. I sympathize with you greatly - it's a dreadful situation. Good luck.

Like Ceg123, we also offered a reward a couple of years back. We stuck about 30 pictures in and around Alsancak, saying there was a reward and our phone number. Specifically didn't mention an amount. A day later we had a phone call from a local garage to say he thought he knew who had our dog, and how much was the reward. I refused to say and 10 minutes later another phone call, to say if we wanted to go down to the garage, our dog MIGHT be there. Sure enough sitting on the passenger seat of a pick up truck was our little lap dog, complete with her collar and lead. I immediately opened the door, grabbed the dog and locked her in our car. I have to admit I did hand over a small amount although the man in question was clearly the person who had taken her (but obviously we had no proof) as he assured us that he had found her running down our road and "I thought I recognised her and I saved her from being run over) I asked him that if he recognised her and suspected where she had come from, why didn't he bring her back home. He just climbed into his truck and drove off. I know we should have contacted the police etc., but we were so pleased to have her back, we just didn't react quickly enough. We have learned our lesson though, don't take dogs for a walk when the guns are out even if on a lead as she was completely spooked and bolted.

I do hope you have a happy ending. Its a dreadful feeling when you know they must be missing you so badly.
