Pegasus I don't believe it
Advertised at £20 per seat 2 people £40 NO CHANCE
£80 because the booking fee is nearly as much as the flight
Book the flight not possible you have to freeze it more cost £3.50
The site then blanks out start again
Tickets are now £23 making the cost £86 with booking fee plus £3.50 for the freeze making £89.50
Plus at the final payment another £4 for something making £93 and one of the most painful web sites
so cost of advertised flight for 2 £40 you actually pay £93 UNBELIEVEABLE

Paddy they make O'leary look naive#
I could have paid extra for seats and food this is a short 50 minutes Turkish flight if they had said £45 each good value but the crap you have to go through starting at £20 why? Thank god its one way

Flash
Agreed its cheap but the crap of a £20 headline £40 to £45 per seat is reasonable the catch of freezing the price and not being able to book straight off .Its a captive market that Pegasus have on this flight its the only direct flight and its once a week.I booked two hotels and a hire car on line in the time it took to book Pegasus
Compare it with Turkish Airlines clear pricing for different pricing of ticket class you get to the end and the rice that you see for the day is whet you pay
Liby
I'm in the UK I need a flight to call in to see you but you must have the working with patience of a saint that system

I hope your complaints procedure works better too, I had an issue going back to last year which I and the CAA believe should be compensated, so far the CAA have managed to raise 1 reply from pgs in 10 months.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
Last time i flew back to blighty I used Pegasus. I could hardly walk after the flight, the seats are so cramped.
Now, whenever possible I try to use Atlas Jet, the seating is superb, free in flight snack or meal, depending on the flight. Unfortunaely they don't cover all the destinations yet. Part of the Turkish Airlines group, they aim to please their customers rather than flease them. Tickets are very reasonable without the added expenses of Pegas.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
I have just been to italy with Pegasus, and Atlas jet offer no such service. Pegasus have a much larger range of airports to which one can fly. I was O.K fore the short trip but booked the special leg room ones for the longer part (the unfortunate thing was changing at Istanbul, instead of staying on the plane, although in the end I enjoyed it. i had a great breakfast on the way out and on the way back had a good salad and used the internet in the cafe. No complaints at all.
so maybe Atlas jet is better for U.K, but it doesn't go much anywhere else.
Escaping from Ercan is not the easiest of things. when I went to Paris last year I had to fly from the south and it was an overnight trip and half killed me. Pegasus was day time, comfortable and I can't complain.
so, it is all about choices, I guess.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
One of my several issues is not getting the legroom I paid extra for. One of the other issues is that after an overnight delay they left my luggage behind, I had to go back to Ercan to collect when it arrived at around 10pm or they were going to charge to store it overnight!

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
I must admit I had a tad of a problem with nmy luggage. i waited at the carousel for over 35 minutes and went to report it to the authorities as misisng (I had spent 3 and a half hours in Istanbul already. But there was my luggage standing outside the office. Obviously, someone had put it on an earlier flgith (my question is 'why couldn't I have been booked on an earlier flight?) and foc ourse Iwas not informed. Just glad all was well and i could then drive home.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
Never used Pegasus.
I make it a challenge of ours to explore every possible flight option fully whenever we travel and take into consideration flight times/stopovers/transfer charges. We also try and book well in advance as this always gets the best value flights.
Have done BA to Larnaca - good flight times, good baggage allowance, food, IFE and reliable service but getting a little expensive
Easyjet to Larnaca - Flight times pretty good. Not keen on the all in wrestling when boarding but definately a bargain, especially if no luggage. No food, IFE and seats not the best. Travelling next March @ £140 for 2 return from Gatwick
Aegeanair to Larnaca - Great all round service and price, could not fault, good food, IFE plus baggage allowance included
Next time in Sept we are giving Turkish Airlines a go into Ercan £435 for 2 rtn from Heathrow....and in May 2013 Turkish Airlines again @ £385 rtn for 2 from Gatwick to Ercan.
Last experience to Ercan was not good but it was a few years ago with Onur Air from Stansted...landed Istanbul @ 7pm and then did not leave until 5am next day - no clear explanation why.
Have researched Pegasus and unfortunately at the moment they have not come up with a better price after all add ons....will keep trying to see if they can be competitive. There are a number of options/choice now into both Larnaca and Ercan and we just add up all the costs for both options and see what gives the best overall deal.
Atlasjet look pretty good and Monarch have some good prices as well.
I love a challenge!

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
Noone seems to have mentioned Anadolujet. I love them when flying to Stanstead. They go via Anakara and I know you get off the plane for a short time, but I don't mind that at all because it's no worse than sitting on the same plane waiting to take off again. The transit lounge is large and airy and NEVER EVER busy. BTW they are a subsidiary of TA. and I think the staff try to impress so they can get transferred to the parent company!!

How do you book with them to/from Stansted? Looking at their website I can only see Turkish destinations, no english!

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
To be honest Guru I don't know, because we've always use Ankara Travel in Girne in the past. However I'm sure they can and do book for people in the UK i.e. Stansted to Ercan and return.

Guru, I've just looked on their on-line booking web site and there is clearly a Union Flag to click on. It immediately reverts to English.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
was booked return Ercan - Istanbul , for tomorrow. Booked on the internet was restricted cancellation/refund cheapie. Unfortunately my husband suffered a massive heart attack Saturday night ,was rescusitated and now having major surgery tomorrow. I phoned and explained situation and the gentleman who dealt with me was brilliant , he cancelled bookings and reissued new this time open tickets. He sent confirmation email and sms. Most grateful for the extremely kind and efficient service.

So sorry Mel. Hope he is O.K. soon. Very scarey for you all. Here is sending some hugs through cyberspace and hope it gives a bit more strength to an already very strong lady!
As to Pegasus - who did you speak to. I am going to the office on Friday and will encourage them with the story you have shared. Thanks.
again, hope all goes well.

Re: Pegasus I don't believe it
We gave up on the Pegasus Web site this morning as we were about to pick the PC up and chuck it through the window. Probably the most user unfriendly I've ever tried to use in my life. However we went to see Libby at her new offices and were booked immediately. I know it cost £12 extra because of commission, but at least it's saved the cost of a new PC!!
