I've given up trying to hold a decent webcam conversations within the TRNC. Absolutely fine to UK and further afield. Can someone please explain why its not good here? Maybe Kemal can explain?

sophie, the stock answer to the many internet/NTV problems appears to be a problem with the Turkish-supplied link. I am unsure how long this will persist for or if it is, indeed, a problem that can be solved given the size of the audience here in the TRNC. I guess it is not financially viable for the provider to invest in upgrading.

Thanks guys, but I do like to use the webcam when I'm chatting to people, on top of that it's free - supposedly.

Sophie, I am actually not sure of the answer to this problem. Skype is essentially a point-to-point system so when a connection is established, it does not go through a 3rd location (like a central server). Therefore, theoretically, skype should work much better within TRNC.

Are both customers on the same provider? If both customers are using Multimax, PM me the customer names, and I will specifically check for point-to-point performance and share my findings here.

Same on Skype, which works fine for me, and others...

If there is a technical / Infrastructure problem affecting sophie or her friend(s) then the same issue could well affect Tango.

Best to find out what the cause of the problem is, and put it right, rather than go changing things 'on spec', I think.
