Does any one know what exchange rate the Tax Office and the Tapu use when you go to pay for your Kocan in sterling and can you pay in cash.
Thanks markonehundred

The amount on the kocan will be in TL how it is calculated and at what rate I do not know. Ours was paid in cash at Vakiflar bank.

I don't understand why you would pay in sterling when the currency here is Turkish lira.

It is funny but we have to pay in sterling on our rental. But we get lira in change.

Hi you pay the taxes - always in TL - at the Tax Office & now also the Tapu who much prefer credit cards to cash. As the valuation is in TL & the taxes are a % of this the exchange rate does not come into it.
