Does anyone know if it is possible to link a TRNC sterling account with Paypal for the purpose of making payments from a UK based paypal account to a sterling current account with, say, CreditWest?

You can not do it with Credit West as they do not provide individual client IBAN numbers. HSBC do provide you with your own IBAN number, but I understand that they will be selling up branches in TRNC and Turkey. I have a UK and Turkey PayPal account, which works perfectly with HSBC account. If you set up a Turkey PayPal account you will need to verify the account with a Credit Card, however, not easy to get hold of in TRNC if you are not living and working here. However, I managed to overcome this by getting a Prepaid card from Turkish Bank, which was used to verify my PayPal account.
