Looking for a water pump

I woke up this morning to find that the lift pump on my water tank is not working. The yapi markets are all closed and I have no water in my roof tank. Anyone know who might have one for me to buy? I live in the Lapta area.

It's very unlikely to be the pump itself - more likely it is the pressure control box on top of the pump. Also, if you've no water in your roof tank then it hasn't been working for some time - it takes a day or two to use 1 ton. And even if you buy a pump it is unlikely the fittings will be the same so you will need a Yapi market for the bits and pieces. The one most likely to be open is Sparks opposite Hos Bes - he's the only one open Sundays so you may be lucky.

I trust you've checked the simple things:-

i) there is water in the downstairs tank

ii) You've pressed the 'reset' button on the pressure control box

iii) You've removed the ventilated end cap from the pump and pushed the rear fan (with a stick or similar) in case the pump is jammed

iv) the power to the pump hasn't been accidentally switched off or the fuse tripped

v) the water level sensor in the downstairs tank (if you have one) hasn't hung upside down on the cross bars

The yapi just before Freddie's in Alsancak coming from Lapta. Very helpful and he can probably get someone to fit for you.

Pressing the reset button on the pressure controller on top of the pump will cause the pump to run, providing the controller is not faulty, there is water in the supply tank and there is no problem with the float switch in the tank.
This is assuming that the controller is the electronic type and not the mechanical/electric type.
It is the electronic type that have the restart button.
The electronic type will stop running after several seconds if it detects that it it is not making pressure. This is a dry run protection facility to protect the pump. The pump is more likely to run dry if it is drawing water from an underground tank.
As said in a previous post, the pump may be seized.
This is normally indicated by the pump motor humming but not rotating.
Removing the cooling fan cover, with the power off, the fan should be free to rotate.
Don't be misled by a seized pump/motor with the fan spinning on the motor shaft
