Hello, everyone. I will be coming to live in the TRNC soon and have a query: When you get a residency stamp in your passport, do you also get a piece of paper/certificate confirming your residency?
I am looking to open a bank account elsewhere. The bank will need official confirmation that I am resident in TRNC. A residency certificate (which I can have translated) would be sufficient.
If you are given a residency certificate, does it include your TRNC address? It may take some time to get a utility bill in my name.
Has anyone else been in a similar position, needing a document to confirm your TRNC residency and/or address? I would appreciate any advice on the best solution.
Many thanks
Dana

A copy of your resident stamp in your passport along with a copy of your sales or rental contract should be sufficient to prove you are now living here. There is no additional certificate of any kind issued, you do get a receipt for the medical tests and also the money paid for your years residency. Failing that maybe a letter from the Muktar or a local Noter to confirm your address.

You should receive a numbered 'KKTC yabancı uyruklular kayıt sertifikası' (TRNC foreign nationals registration certificate) which is a Blue or pink booklet.
The reference number of your first application (possibly your permanent file number) will be written on the front.
Inside will be your full name and address in TRNC, the fee paid (6TL when I did it, but probably a good bit more now), and the date of your application.
They should fix a passport sized photo of you inside as well.
There is a notice inside the back cover which warns you not to engage in any employment without the appropriate permit, and to notify the Police if you change address.
