I have a large palm in my garden and wonder when the leaves should be trimmed or pruned. Having looked around, some people do not bother while others give their trees and short back and sides every year.
Suggestions on solution please and who maybe able to assist, plus typical costs.
Thank You.

Re: Palm Tree Care and "pruning"
You are best not pruning phoenix dactylera - date palms that is - any time other than deepest winter.
Otherwise the wet sap attracts those evil palm weevils (which are active from March to November) and you will doom your palm.

Oh dear....just had my date palms pruned. Had not been pruned in forty odd years.
