There is one in the old Turkish quarter, but can't remember the name. Or there is Arty Art a couple of doors from Magic Touch on the road down to the Bellapais traffic lights. I am sure there are others, but I can't remember. The best one for you could be the one in the Turkish quarter, and maybe our lovelyPam Schofield the artist is the best one to advise you on this.

Theman at Lamboussa is the one in the Turkish quarters. As to the map, great stuff Tatiana, but could you give a few hints as to where exactly it is. I can't fnd a starting poinbt.

Hope this helps to get those pictures framed and on the wall.

The old Turkish quarters, is that the area opposite the colony hotel and the courts?

Go up the little one way street opposite the courts with coffee shop on the corner and take the first RIGHTabout 150 yds up and you see it. Alternative, take the road up from the Courts which has the Telephone offices on the corner, walk about 150 yards and take first LEFT. Having said that I always use the shop and arty gallery next to Magic Touch.

The Wildebeest (bless her) who paints, primarily for charities, regularly uses the gentleman who is at Lamboussa on Saturdays and also trades from his home in the old quarter of Girne. Prices have ranged from 30 to 70 TL dependant on size, approx A4 size being towards the lower end of that scale. He has unfailingly delivered the following Saturday. Frames have been in dark or light brown colours with cream mounts and of expert quality. For bright coloured pictures such as flora, good quality white frames with white mounts are available at Ikea in South Lefkosa at half the price of made to measure frames. This of course entails painting pictures taking into account at the outset the inside measurements of the frames and mounts to be used.

If you are wanting more ornate frames in gold, silver or highly carved then the place next to Magic Touch is the place to go. I can't remember prices as we've not had anything done for over 6 months, but I can remember being pleasantly surprised. Went into shop on Wednesday and collected Saturday morning. Work is actually done at their Lefkosa workshops. Obviously the do very plain, simple white frames as well.

BTW, the last time I went there was a lady collecting a large Chinese painting done on Silk which they had framed for her. Fabulous job, but that really was out of my league.
